What are we looking for?

We are looking for an entrepreneur at heart, that is hardworking and has a passion for sales. The founding members of our team would have strong experience in business to business sales or Business Analyst experience with Sales. The interested candidate would be expected to buy into the company as such would own shares in the organisation. The Sales Founder would play an active role in the day to day operations and participate in the establishment of the business in Kenya, East Africa and beyond.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Participation in the establishment of the sales and marketing strategy of the organisation
  • Translate the sales strategy in practical terms as to inform the daily operations of the business
  •  Manage staff development by regularly identifying skills gaps to ensure that relevant skills and best practices are adopted
  • Set-up and recruit a sales organisation based on a solutions-oriented sales approach
  • Lead sales organisations to deliver on both the strategy and a  highly valuable customer experience
  • Capable of executing and managing the entire sales and marketing lifecycle


Must have

  • At least four years of sales experience or Business Analyst experience with sales
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the business and/or political environments of one or more of the following countries including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania or Ethiopia
  • Extensive business networks and contacts across Kenya and/or East Africa
  • Must have four years Business to Business B2B sales experience including prospecting, qualifying into leads, converting to an opportunity and closing the sale
  • Strong people engagement skills and ability to work across all stakeholders from operational staff to top management
  • MUST be willing to learn and continuous update their skills
  • MUST understand business functions and processes

Must have at least two

  • Business Analyst experience would be a significant plus
  • Must enjoy solving problem, providing advice and engaging with business leaders
  • Experience in sales and marketing strategy development
  • Good understanding of Product Development
  • Experience of solutions sales processes
  • Experience building and implementing Go-To-Market strategies
  • At least two years of management experience in consultancy or Information Technology
  • Experience building and leading a successful sales and/or marketing team
  • Experience responding and preparing tendering bids

Good to have

  • Software sales experience would be a significant advantage
  • Software sales experience in a western country would be a significant advantage
  • Business Analyst experience would be a significant advantage
  • Experience working in a software consultancy
  • Board-level management experience
